How About Franking Your Christmas Business Post?

With Christmas rearing its head now’s the time to get your greetings cards out! As a business the festive period is the perfect time to promote yourselves; it gives the simplest excuse to run a new line of products, offer a 25% off Christmas offer for example, promotional free delivery before the new year, send seasons greetings cards to your customers or even post letters with news of what’s to come in the New Year! At this time of year companies purchase more paper, envelopes, stamps, labels and ink cartridges than at any other time, and it’s clear to see why!

Franking is a popular method of postage during this period as it is quick and easy and so cuts time wastage, people power and ultimately money, plus it will give your company a professional image. Franking is known for its cost effectiveness and complete ease of use, and with its flexible range of products and services, it’s no wonder franking machines have become a necessity in offices. By sending your mail using the franking method, you will have the option to pay for credit when you need it so that you will be in complete control of your postage and the cost involved. This is the ideal method for businesses large or small as there are no minimum or maximum postage volume restrictions. What’s more the Royal Mail offer postage discount incentives for franked mail; you will qualify for discounts on your post regardless of how many items you are sending!

The franking machine will print on envelopes of any size or colour, however if you’d like to make absolutely sure that your post marks are straight and visible then the Royal Mail recommend using franking labels. Using labels will give a better finish and will ensure that your envelopes look professional. Plus if you’re sending coloured or patterned envelopes or packets, directly printing your franking mark is not a great idea. You may find that the stamp is not visible through the pattern or the colour and therefore would have wasted the cost of that stamp. Our franking labels are selling fast at Office 365, so if you’d like to stock up for your Christmas mailroom rush, then you’ll need to get in quick. Avery Franking Labels at Office 365 are currently all on offers with the featured Avery Franking Labels 2 Per Sheet on an offer of 35% off! The Green Bit

A while back we introduced Avery’s achievement of planting a whopping 30′458 trees! Well that’s pretty impressive. They basically plant 1 tree for every code entered onto the site. The total number of trees planted by Avery for their 2009 promotion was a remarkable 64’846! Good work everyone.

Their 2010 promotion is continuing this number and aiming for a target of 100,000 new trees for Kenya. At the moment the new total is 65′450, you can add to this total in the same way as before by clicking on this link. http://www.eco.avery.eu/tree_planting.php?gift_id=132

Avery will continue to promote sustainability by continuously improving the design and development of environmentally responsible products created in a manner that consumers and customers understand, value and reward.

Huge Savings on Package Care Labels

There are many working environments that deal with deliveries, outgoing post, packaging and so on. This is particularly true for warehouses and factories, however most businesses have a post room or mailroom that deal with outgoing mail daily. If your company are wholesalers or internet based retail companies, then the main objective of your business is to send out orders. In order to do so you’ll need the right materials and equipment. One of the vital products you’ll need to consider if the items you’re sending are of a delicate nature is labels. It is your responsibility as the supplier to make sure that your packages are sent out with care and clearly labelled so that the delivery person or company are aware of how to treat the package. Then, should there be any damage to the parcel when it arrives with the customer, you can seek responsibility from the courier, rather than incurring costs yourself, as you clearly advised them that the item was fragile. For the minimal price of handle with care labels and fragile labels, you can save yourself quite a penny!

Our Handle With Care Tape featured is ideal for mailrooms and warehouses sending out continuous fragile items.

  • Text is ‘Handle with care’
  • Printed polypropylene tapes
  • Red wording on white tape
  • Ideal for companies with quality systems such as ISO 9000
  • Packed 6 rolls
  • 50mm x 66m
  • 25% off! – Just £14.55 for a pack of 6!

Simply peel off enough tape to reveal the text ‘Handle With Care’, or alternatively use the tape to secure your packaging closed whilst doubling as a warning message. Another similar alternative is our Fragile Tape featured to your left.

  • Text is ‘Fragile’
  • Printed polypropylene tapes
  • Red text on white tape

Continuous Label Rolls – Need Some Help?

There is a staggering number of different types of labels available on the market today, and with so many to choose from and with them all appearing so similar, we understand how it can become infuriating! So today’s blog is dedicated to helping you understand one of our more popular choices of labels so that you can make an informed choice.

Before we go into specific labels, it is important that you know precisely what you will be using these labels for. Are you looking at addressing envelopes, labelling folders and files, labelling goods, creating media discs, labelling items for transportation outdoors? It is important to know the intended purpose so that you can purchase the most practical option.

As well as this you will need to decide which size is best for your chosen application. Once you know this, narrowing down your search will be much easier and you’ll feel confident in your final decision. Bear in mind that this decision may be dependent on your printer settings, your specific label printer or the size of your envelope/package.

Next you will need to decide which type of printer (if any) you intend to print on these labels with. This is also a searchable option when finding labels. You will even find additional options such as Quick Dry and Weather Proof, Anti Tamper etc.

Our Label Rolls feature labels which are produced on a roll in rows of just one. They can be continuously fed through a printer using label printing software or fed through specialist label makers and typewriters. More often than not, these labels run along a very long strip and come in numerous different sizes, adhesive types and colours. Luckily most labels can easily be detached using the clever separation points which save time and effort. Available from 5 Star, Avery, Brother and Dymo, the selection in sizes is staggering! Take a look at the chart below for reference.

5 Star Sizes mm Avery Sizes mm Brother Sizes mm Dymo Sizes mm
89 x 36 89 x 37 29 x 90 24 x 12
89 x 49 38 x 90 25 x 54

Legally Copy Your CD’s!

Thanks to the new music copying laws, soon the UK can look forward to a relax in the rules in terms of copying music and film. This is a fantastic advance in government legislation and will allow the UK to keep up with technology trends. The result of the change is the Hargreaves Review, which states that the government should make it legal to move digital files you own from one device or format to another. It was an obvious and vital move as more and more people are storing music and film digitally, and the technology for doing so is continuously advancing. If the law’s hadn’t been relaxed, we would literally be freezing music and film digital storage technology as it is causing more and more new products to face legal difficulties if they were to attempt to launch in the UK. Now where’s the sense in that? Britain don’t want to be seen as a technologically stunted nation any more than they want to be ridiculed by the nations who are advancing. Happy days!

We can now expect companies such as Amazon, Google and Apple to open up new services allowing us to access our music where ever we are! The laws will be relaxed so much so that it will even be legal to copy music and film for our own and immediate family’s private use on different media! It does state however that the move will only legalise private copying for non-commercial use, it will not allow people to share content over the internet without copyright owners’ permission. So in short, if the plans become law, changing the format of your music and film will be legal, and you will also be able to lawfully burn copies of the music and give them to your family.

With this positive change in the law, we can now all happily stock up on blank CD’s and copy our files from our computers onto disk for family and friends – fantastic! Dawn is the era of legal ‘mix tapes’ or rather mix CD’s, compilations for loved ones of just straight CD copying. Happy times indeed; but why not go the whole hog and make your CD’s look like the real thing? Using CD Labels will enable you to give your disks the replica look of the actual thing that way your copied disks will look far more pleasing to the eye and will leave the recipient feeling as though you’d put your all into the gift. You can save yourself a fortune with just a stack of blank disks, CD labels and time; that’s Christmas’s, birthdays and anniversaries all rolled into one!

Take a look at our variety of Avery CD labels available in clear or glossy options as well as inkjet printable and laser printable varieties. Simply create your label design using software from Avery, then print and apply carefully to the disk. What you will be left with is an impressive high resolution print finish and the imperative ‘wow’ factor.

The Clear Solution to Your Address Labels Needs!

Gosh, we really have come a long way from those days of individually handwriting out each envelopes address. Some companies would even hire staff from outside of the office, to receive boxes of their mail and handwrite on each and every one of them, paying them a wage per box they complete. What a job…whether this was an in-house task or not, it is nowadays a waste of time and therefore a waste of money and recourses as we have the alternative addressing labels. Now getting your mail out is a simple and almost cost-free process as we have options such as Avery Addressing Labels which are designed with the consumer in mind making the job easier in every way possible. With options ideal for large envelopes and small, parcels, mailing tubes and even boxes, our selection of Avery labels give a bright white and professional finish. At Office 365, we’re big fans of the clear addressing envelopes as they offer all the quality of the white ones, yet can be applied to every coloured envelope that exists, giving the same perfect results every time. Whatever colour envelope you’re using, you want to make sure to give a neat and professional finish. Why not ‘wow’ your prospective customers and existing ones with a perfect finish; these Avery clear addressing labels are suitable for use with inkjet printers and are guaranteed to produce optimum results every time.  Go clear and give the ‘printed directly on envelope look’, these labels virtually disappear! Give Your Pen (& Your Hand) a Break This Christams – Use Labels!

It’s fast approaching Christmas and we’re all gradually building up our Christmas card supplies, ready to post them out to our numerous friends and relatives both close and distant.  This can often be the hardest part of sending out your greetings cards; preparing the long list is something which needs doing again every year. Using your address book, remove or ignore the names of those that are no longer with you or a part of your circle of contacts. This way you can establish who and how many people you will need to write to this year. This list however can be rather large and writing out this many cards can leave you rather tired. Many complain of neck strain, headaches, back pain or repetitive stress injury affecting the hands or the wrists. But this doesn’t have to be the case. One of the most effective ways of writing out your Christmas cards is by using your computer! Here we’re going to give you some ideas on how to print labels for not only your Christmas card envelopes, but for the cards too.

You Will Need

For this project you will need to use Microsoft Word© and you will also need to purchase labels appropriate for your printer. When purchasing Avery labels, you will be given all the information you need to create those labels on your PC. Alternatively, go to www.avery.com and download the free software from there. Once you have installed your software, open your Word Document and click on the Avery icon on the far right of the menu bar. Find the 4 digit code from your Avery labels box (normally located on the front of the box and in a larger font) say the code is 4444 for example. Once the Avery software has opened, select ‘Next’ and then enter your label number. Select your label from the list and click ‘Next’. This will bring you to the selection menu where you can choose the type of label you would like to produce. For example you could choose a plain styled label or some kind of holiday or greetings label style. Select your chosen image and click ‘Next’.

You will now need to decide whether you are making mailing or return labels, in this case, it’s mailing labels so select the text ‘Type many different entries on one sheet’. Next you will see a layout of the labels. At this stage you will need to type out all your recipients names and addresses which could take time. But remember, once this is done, you will be able to return to this list and use it for many different occasions for years ahead. You will also be able to easily update the list, adding or removing addresses as and when you need to. Once this is done, select ‘Next’ twice and then ‘Finish’. Avery Wizard will then create duplicate labels for you.  Make sure to save the file where it can easily be accessed in the future.

To add a more personal touch, you may like to change the set picture to artwork that you have created yourself, or to one of your own photographs. To do this, choose ‘Insert’ from the tool bar and select ‘Picture’. You then have the choice of either ‘Clipart’ or ‘From File’. Double click on your chosen picture and it will be inserted for you. Try to be creative, add a family snap or a photograph of something festive (if it’s for Christmas). If you do not have Microsoft Word, don’t worry. You can still create mailing labels at Avery.com. There may however be some limitations with choice of fonts or photos but you will still be able to your create labels.
