New Year – Happier Staff

honeywellLogoDon’t start the new year by bringing your staff back into a frosty office. Reward their hard work and encourage more of it by creating a comfortable temperature and environment for them to work in. It’s the start of 2010, if you can begin the year with a positive vibe in the office, that can only bring positive energy and a more enthusiastic work force. Also, offices are renowned for their freezing cold temperatures during the winter months and it is for this reason that absence peeks during the cold months. This could be down to colds and flu or to employees simply skipping work to avoid the cold workplace. What we need to ask ourselves is; could we create a warmer environment to prevent sickness? If we were to raise the temperature in the office during winter months, is it less likely that employees would skip work?

At Office 365 we believe that the office can only benefit in every aspect from the purchase of heaters, and a great choice for the workplace is the Honeywell Oil Filled Radiator featured to your right. honeywell-radiatorIt features;

Not lucky enough to have air con?

Air Conditioning UnitWell neither are we. :( But luckily we have a range of air conditioning/treatment machines and fans, to stop you from overheating, while slaving away at your desks through the summer months. Take a look here for a range of our coolers.

Air purification and conditioning can significantly improve the quality of the air we breathe indoors – its not all about cooling us down! Some have filters and ionizers which trap and can help remove common pollutants such as dust, carbon partials from car fumes, smoke, pollen, some bacteria, mould spores, animal dander and other microscopic irritants from the air. Refrigerated cooling and dehumidifiers reduce the water in the air, making it a more bearable environment, and helps make it harder for pests to grow (doesn’t work on colleagues or bosses though!)

What are the different types of air cons?

Air treatment products can create a fresher, cleaner, healthier, more pleasant and more productive working environment.

Refrigerated air conditioning works just like your fridge (but without the food!) which removes heat continuously from the fridge and discharges it in the kitchen (or where ever your fridge may be). An air conditioning unit works by removing the heat an moisture from where ever it is unwanted, through an open window or vent. This means you feel cooler and drier.

Dehumidifiers are used to keep the humidity levels low without loosing the heat. These are better in the Autumn or Winter months. They work just like an air conditioning unit, but instead of the heat going outside, the air is dried and heated slightly, so that the existing heat is supplemented but not lost.

In offices, computer screens and copying machinery along with general pollution, all act to unbalance the proportion of negative to positive ions in the air. An ionizer, which some air con machines have, creates and delivers protective negative ions into the air, which neutralise the positive ions. These ions then charge the pollutant particles negatively, so they are Micromark Tower Fanattracted out of the air to earth.

If you would prefer a smaller fan to an air conditioning unit, you can view our range of fans by clicking here.

I personally recommend this floor standing fan. I have this at home and its perfect for cooling the room down at night as it is quite quiet and you can set the speed – Keighley.
